Join our team as a Packhouse Operative at a busy fresh produce site in West Sussex

Shift Pattern: 3 days on / 3 days off, 06:00–19:00

Start Date: Week commencing 19/04/2026

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

About the Role

We are recruiting Packhouse Operatives to join a well-established fresh produce site in Chichester. The site operates modern glasshouse and packhouse facilities supplying high-quality products to major UK retailers.

Main Duties

• Sorting and grading fresh produce according to quality standards

• Packing products into trays, punnets, or boxes

• Labelling and preparing goods for dispatch

• Performing visual quality checks and removing damaged or substandard produce

• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the packhouse

• Following all food safety, health & safety, and company procedures

• Supporting other packhouse duties as required by the supervisors

Requirements

Essential:

• Good attention to detail

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods

• Reliable team player with good communication skills

• Willingness to follow company procedures and instructions

Desirable:

• Previous experience in packhouse, warehouse, or food production

• Basic knowledge of food hygiene standards
