SUMMARY OF PURPOSE: To maximise the efficiency of packhouse operations whilst ensuring all quality, legal and safety requirements are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         To ensure all fruit is transported in a safe way which does not cause damage to people, the fruit, equipment or building

·         To set up the line prior to commencement of production and during production ensuring that all packaging and fruit etc. are present and correct in a timely manner in order to minimise the downtime, and that any packaging and fruit left from the previous run has been removed and scanned to its location

·         To ensure any stock moved from a location to the other is always scanned using a handheld scanner

·         Report any discrepancies of stock to the Production Supervisor

·         Ensure the stock is scanned to its correct location and the job

·         Ensure the pallets with finished product are secured with sufficient corner boards and straps and are made safe prior to transportation, they are with outer labels as per customer specifications

·         To ensure that all products (raw material and finished products) have correct identification label attached and correctly scanned

·         Transfer raw material to the packhouse / prep area and finished products to warehouse / stores as per instructions

·         To complete all daily checks on equipment and report any damage or dangerous occurrences

·         To operate/drive all MHE’s in a safe manner.

·         To complete all relevant paperwork in full and to the highest standard in a timely fashion, ensuring that it is legible and signed and dated

·         To ensure the health and safety standards of site are followed

·         To follow “Clean as you go”

Necessary skills:

·         Ability to use MHE (Licence would be advantage)

·         Awareness of importance of H&S

·         Good communication skills

·         Organisational skills

·         Time and priority management skills

·         Attention to detail

·         The ability to work in a team and being a team player

·         Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude

·         Flexibility

. Possibility of being a Temp to Perm Role

. Must have Proof of Right to Work
