Last week, the Pro-Force team attended the ALP Roadshow 2026: Reform in Action, joining labour providers and industry professionals to discuss upcoming legislative changes, industry developments, and the future landscape for employment and worker rights in the UK.
One of the key presentations of the day was delivered by Paul Chamberlain from JMW Solicitors, who provided an overview of the Employment Rights Act 2025 and the phased implementation planned across 2026 and 2027. The session focused on the implications for labour providers and employers, highlighting the importance of preparation, compliance, and operational readiness ahead of the upcoming changes.
The Employment Rights Act 2025 represents one of the biggest overhauls of employment law in decades and is being introduced in stages through 2026 and 2027 so employers and workers can adapt gradually.
Key reforms include:
Stronger unfair dismissal protection
Expanded day-one rights for leave and sick pay
Restrictions on “fire and rehire”
New protections for zero-hours and agency workers
Expanded sexual harassment duties
Longer employment tribunal claim limits
Stronger trade union rights
Creation of a new Fair Work Agency
Enhanced redundancy consultation rules
Reforms to flexible working and bereavement leave
Attendees also heard from Marie Mannion, who shared insight into the newly established Fair Work Agency (FWA), which will act as a single enforcement body for workers’ rights, a concept that has been discussed across the industry for many years and is now becoming a reality. The session explored how the agency is expected to operate and the role it will play in strengthening worker protections and enforcement moving forward.
Reflecting on the event, Pro-Force Compliance Director, Sam Zubaidi, noted the value of hearing directly from legal and industry experts on the evolving employment landscape and the importance of staying ahead of regulatory developments.
At Pro-Force, remaining actively engaged with industry discussions and legislative change is an important part of our commitment to ethical recruitment, compliance, and continuous improvement across our operations.
