Nursery workers

Pro-Force has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supplying labour into the Horticultural sector working in Propagation, Container Nursery, Field Nursery, Dispatch and general labouring.

Through our participation of the training initiatives that our workers has undertaken, it has given us a better depth of understanding of the way in which Nurseries operate and this is reflected by the quality and attitude of the staff that we provide through our diligent recruiting processes.

One of the main initiatives that has been introduced for our staff over the last three years has been the establishing of the Core Worker Programme (a comprehensive training scheme developed for the enhancement of both the worker and the client through raising standards and working practices)

The benefits of having Core Workers with transferable skills to move from nursery to nursery has been unique in its concept and advantageous in its foresight because it offers  nursery’s a workable solution specifically designed for those businesses that either have had to downsize their labour force through economic pressures or from the increasing fall of skilled labour.

With the assistance of funding from the Vocational Training Scheme we have created a team of workers who having being pre-selected have undergone up to three years of purposeful training in a selection of modules (designed by nurseries in accordance with their strategic needs) now play a unique and positive role in both their and the nurseries development.

Cost will constantly play a part as a contributing factor to business economics but the importance of preserving and indeed building for the future and looking for sustainable growth should always be the principal factor. The advantages that nurseries involved in the programme have obtained cannot be measured in financial terms they have though calculated through what is considered to be for them the most cost-effective means of human resource planning and the Core Worker Programme has provided them with a practical solution to their business needs.
