Q. How much does it cost to get a job with Pro-Force?
A. It actually costs nothing. We do not charge for registering or when you start work with us.
Q. How much money do I need to bring with me?
A. We recommend that you bring at least £100 sterling with you as you will receive your first wage the Friday following the previous week worked.
Q. How and when are my wages paid?
A. Wages are paid directly into your Bank Account on the Friday following the previous week worked.
Q. How do I open a Bank Account?
A. As part of the Induction we shall assist you with opening a UK Bank Account.
Q. What are the deductions from my wages?
A. In the UK all earnings are subject to PAYE (Pay as you earn) this means that you will pay Tax and National Insurance on your weekly income. We have a computerised system that calculates your hours worked by the hourly rate to leave you with the net pay. The only other charge may be for accommodation if you are living on one of the farms.
Q. How will I know that I have been paid correctly?
A. When your wages are paid you will receive a payslip which will itemise your hours worked and any bonus that you have earned. If you feel that there is a problem with your wages please come and tell us and we will check it for you.
Q. How many hours can I work a week?
A. Under European Law 48 hours is the maximum that you can work, however, there is an opting out clause on your Contract of Service that if you wish to have the opportunity of working more hours must be agreed and signed. These hours will be monitored as part of the Agricultural Wages Order (AWO) in ensuring that rest days are taken within a maximum of 17 weeks as a time period.
Q. What is the cost of the accommodation?
A. Accommodation provided on the farms is £31.22 per week
Q. How many people will I have to share with?
A. Most of the accommodation provided on the farms will accommodate between 3-5 people
Q. Can I share the accommodation with my friend or partner?
A. The majority of farms do not mind who you live with and let you decide provided it does not interfere with the spaces left in the caravans.
Q. Can I drive my car to the farm?
A. No, this is due to the lack of space on the farms.
Q. Will I pay for transport to and from work?
A. No, if you are working away from the campsite to fields outside of walking distance you will not be charged.
Q. What if I do not like the job?
A. We hope that all workers will enjoy their time working with us. For those that for some reason cannot get on with the job they have been allocated provided that there has been no problem with bad behaviour we shall endeavour to find alternative work though we cannot give a firm guarantee that another option is available.
Q. What happens after the season has finished?
A. Once the season has finished depending on whether or not that you want to stay for a further period of time provided that you have been a hardworking person then it is possible that we will be able to offer you further employment.
